THE LOST DOGS OF LANGSTON.
Entry 9.
Well there's pigs too. Not mine, but the neighbor has them, they're on some land that's catty cornered and behind my back yard. They're huge and they make a lot of noise sometimes. Not often, just when they eat. I was having a girl party for my birthday in 2019 (incidentally the last gathering here before the pandemic, just me and two friends, we were cutting up collage and having cake and food and wine and stuff, it was really nice and I left the party items out for a long time after that, especially after everyone found out the news about the pandemic) (not the food, I didn't leave that out for months like Miss Havisham's cake; just the collage stuff and the work table in the sitting room and the scissors and glue and stuff) and my next door neighbor, Miss Ilene, called while we were partying. I didn't get the message though until everyone had gone home, it was probably about five o'clock or maybe a little earlier and I checked the phone and called Miss Ilene back and she said I called earlier to tell you there was a pig in your yard. And I was well Wow! And she said Oh I hope it didn't root up your blueberries. So I went to check and nope, the blueberries were just fine and the pig wasn't there anymore. Miss Ilene had told me about another pig that went into another lady's yard around here and the lady shot him. I wouldn't go that far but I wouldn't want to encounter a random pig in my yard, they're very formidable animals. The ones behind my house have an electric fence but I must say I am really relieved that there is now another fence around the outside of my property and it makes me feel just a little bit safer when I go back there. Pigs are big. There are lots of little ones now and they are seriously super cute.
A pig in your yard is kinda big news in Langston, Alabama.
