A hidden handwritten limerick was found on the back of a page where one of Madge's poems was typed. First I'll put the poem here, then the limerick.

SONG

In years to come

when all shall be

forgotten, lover--

In years to come

when we are old

and youth is fled--

In years to come

we shall at last

discover

That love is not--

In years to come, my own,

When we are dead.

(Pretty dramatic.)

Now for the limerick. I don't know if she was just copying it or writing it herself, but mysteriously, there are a few blanks. This one's handwritten in the notebook, remember.

There was a young lady of _____

Whose conduct was right on the _____

Between heaven and hell.

Which would win, who could tell?

But what mattered that? She's a _____.

I searched for it online but came up with nothing yet.

So much mystery here. It's an excellent obsession. I'm not unproud of it at all.
